Who is Menatombo?
Menatombo has been around since 1996 — further back than that as an idea. We got our start during the internet boom, building small programs that helped everyday people get more out of their computers: tools to help you unlock your own accounts, stream video and music, and generally make technology behave. What started as one programmer’s vision has grown into a 20-person team making programs, videos, games, books, and more.
Why we’re back
AI is the biggest shift in consumer software since the internet itself, and it’s brought the same problem we started out solving: powerful tools that are hard to own and easy to get locked into. So we built Agent in a Box — a program that lets you run a local AI agent with any personality you give it, using your own local model or your own accounts with the big providers. Your agent, on your machine, on your terms.
